Call on monitoring & mitigation of Greenhouse gases from agri- and silvi-culture

ERA-GAS Cofund launched a call for transnational research projects in Europe and New Zealand on 4 March 2016. The 2016 Call for Pre-proposals closed on 3 May 2016. On 18 October 2016 the research consortia of the selected proposals received an invitation to participate in the second application step.

The submission platform opened on 19 October 2016 and the deadline to submit full proposals is 19 December 2016, 14.00 CET. In this second step of the call process an international peer review panel, the International Evaluation Committee (IEC), will evaluate the full proposals based on excellence, impact and quality and efficiency of the implementation and management. Each proposal will be reviewed by at least three independent experts. The ranking of full proposals will be conducted according to the evaluation results, and the selection of full proposals has to strictly follow the ranking list of evaluators.

The joint call is under the ERA-NET Cofund scheme of Horizon 2020 of the European Commission. The scientific scope of the present call for proposals addresses collaborative projects in the following four research themes:

1) Improving national GHG inventories and monitoring, reporting and verification of emissions
2) Refining and facilitating the implementation of GHG mitigation technologies
3) State of the art production systems that are profitable and improve food and forest biomass production while reducing GHG emissions
4) Assessment of policy and economic measures to support emissions reductions across the farm-to-fork and forest-to consumer chain.

The funding partners are from 13 European countries and New Zealand. The indicative total budget amounts to 13,9 M €, subject to the successful negotiation of the ERA-GAS ERA-NET Cofund with the European Commission.

See our Evaluation Guidelines for a detailed timeline.

Take note that the Call Announcement has been updated on 18 October 2016. The main changes are an update to the call timeline and evaluation of full proposals, and an update on the NCP for Germany and the Netherlands. Download the latest version of the Call Announcement.
